Cookies and tracking technologies
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to enable core functionality (such as your shopping cart), to remember your preferences, and to measure and improve performance. We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and similar analytics tools, which collect information about your visit to help us understand our audience and show relevant content and advertising on third-party platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. These tools may set their own cookies.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling some cookies may affect how the Website functions.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers (“operators” under POPIA) who help us run our business, and only to the extent necessary, including:
- payment providers — PayFast and PayPal — to process your payments
securely; - our website hosting and email providers, to operate the Website and send
communications you have requested; - Meta (Facebook) and analytics providers, in connection with the tracking described above; and
- regulators, law enforcement, or other parties where we are required to do so by law.
These providers are required to keep your information secure and to use it only for the purposes for which we share it.
Cross-border transfers
Some of our service providers (such as PayPal and Meta) operate outside South Africa,
which means your personal information may be transferred to and processed in other
countries. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information
continues to receive a level of protection consistent with POPIA, including by using providers
that are subject to comparable data-protection laws or contractual safeguards.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal
information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. While no online service can be
guaranteed to be completely secure, we work to protect your information and to review our
safeguards regularly. If a security compromise affecting your personal information occurs,
we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA.
How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in
this Policy, including to fulfil orders, provide support, meet legal and accounting obligations,
and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
- Children’s privacy
Although our Products are designed for the education of young children, the Website and
any purchases are intended to be used by adults — parents, guardians, and educators. We
do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has
provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@aohbl.com and we will take
appropriate steps to remove it. - Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
